Michelle has recently joined our agency and brings with her over a decade of marketing experience.
Can you tell us about your background and what led you to this role?
I started my career at NewsCorp, where I spent seven years across both state and national marketing teams – working with some incredibly inspiring leaders. My favourite role at News was working with the sales team, leveraging client spends with integrated marketing and editorial opportunities, offering incremental value to both clients and readers alike.
Looking for something different and keen to enter the world of entertainment and hospitality, I was fortunate enough to land a dream role as head of marketing at Bankstown Sports Club in 2016. With over 110,000 members, multiple venues and dining outlets, I loved the fast pace and variety of working for one of the largest clubs in NSW.
Ensuring every marketing execution is always holistic and business-centric, variety and fast-pace action excites me. Having worked with McKenzies at Bankstown Sports, I was both flattered and overwhelmed when the opportunity aligned.
What attracted you to the role at McKenzie Partners?
Being part of an inspiring workplace, having motivated leaders and the ability to learn from colleagues at every level makes me tick.
After working with McKenzie Partners during my time at Bankstown Sports, the whole team always seemed happy, motivated and driven. When I met Darren, I was very much impressed by his story, desire to do more and, of course, his great sense of humour.
It is an incredible opportunity to be able to support the marketing causes and overall needs of a broad range of businesses and industries, while tapping into my media expertise.
What are you hoping to achieve here?
Over time I hope to share my diverse experience and client-side insights, and of course relish in the variety. Next year I’ll finish my MBA, so it will be so great to extend myself and put learnings into practice.
